Top folk act Clova to play Decaturville 17 April 2006
The latest addition to the line up of the Dave Sharp weekend Decaturville is top Glasgow folk band Clova (including long time Alarm/Dave fan Colin Bulloch on guitar, mandolin, banjo & vocals).

Clova will join the Saturday evening line-up alongside a supporting slot from The Deportees. The highlight of the evening will be when The Deportees are joined by Dave Sharp for the debut performance from Dave Sharp & The Deportees.

Clova

Described as 'acoustic with attitude', Clova have established themselves in the Scottish 'new folk' circuit with spirited and vivacious performances throughout Scotland & Ireland. As well as appearing on STV & BBC Scotland, the three piece also won The Big Issue's 2003 'Songs Of Freedom' competition.

From Weatherfield To Doncaster 04 April 2006
Dave is expected to appear on Coronation Street for the second time this week in Wednesday's episode. He will then miraculously transport himself from Coronation Street, Weatherfield to The Leopard, Doncaster for the first date of The Hard Folk Tour.

Monday's two episodes of Coronation Street both featured Dave in shot, but the second episode gave him his first TV speaking part - even if all he managed was ''no, no''!
Coronation Street Apr 03 2006

Dave tells us that a second scene was recorded, again featuring former Hear'Say star Kim Marsh as wannabe singer Michelle and this is expected to air in Wednesday's episode.

A couple more bits of Hard Folk news:

One new show has been added for Thursday 20th April at The Fox, Colsterworth (on the A1 between Grantham & Spalding).

Dave's performance at StrummerCamp, the Joe Strummer Tribute Festival is now confirmed for Saturday 27th May with a provisional stage time of approximately 6.30pm.
Dave returns to Coronation Street 03 April 2006
Vernon Tomlin's Rock Rhythm Rascals return to Coronation Street tonight and Dave is reprising his role as their stand up bass player. This will be Dave's second appearance on The Street & promises to be a bit more prominent than last year's debut.

In the second of this evenings two episodes (8.30pm), former Hear'Say singer Kym Marsh auditions to join the band. Dave says he had a real hoot shooting the scenes and despite their very different musical heritages, Kym was a real pleasure to work with.

Dave will be leaving his fledgling acting career behind when he sets off on the Hard Folk tour later this week. The tour kicks off in Doncaster on Wednesday before heading via Stourbridge to South Wales and beyond.

D.C. Dave 13 February 2006
Not for the first time in his career, musical or otherwise, best part of Dave's performance seemed to end up on the cutting room floor, but D.C. Dave Sharp was responsible for cuffing the crook in tonight's episode of 'Life On Mars'

Dave's got a couple more TV roles coming up in the next couple of months. Still waiting on transmission details so not sure which order they will air in, but UK viewers can watch out for more Sharp in ITV's forthcoming Moors Murder drama and also in soap opera Emmerdale.
For fans overseas, 'Life On Mars' is being sold to a number of overseas networks, USA included. Keep your eyes open (and stay Sharp).

'Life On Mars' Tonight 06 February 2006
Just a reminder for # troopers in the UK that Dave Sharp is suppossed to be in 'Life On Mars' on BBC1 this evening at 9pm.

Dave plays a side kick to DC Litton (played by long time Alarm fan Lee Ross, who shows up to straighten out DCI Hunt's sloppy police-work.

However, Dave hasn't been able to confirm that he's in this episode and doesn't recognise the synopsis ... it may be that the order of episodes has been changed. Set your videos, we'll let you know if he was in it!
