Keith Ashcroft was born in Chorley, Lancashire on 12th December 1958.

Keith Ashcroft has spent his working life as a professional musician and has toured the world time and time again with many of the worlds greatest recording artistes.

After turning professional in 1978, Keith worked with Ken Dodd, Vince Hill, Cannon & Ball, Tommy Cooper, Faith Brown until 1980.

In 1980 Keith co-founded prominent North West 'jazz / rock/ fusion' band Free Parking, playing both guitar and bass. Other members of Free Parking included fellow Soul Company member and 10CC drummer, Paul Burgess, Mike Wilson (Swing Out Sister & Texas) and
Sylvan Richardson (Simply Red).

Following Free Parking, Keith formed the short-lived Spiritual Hooligans with Shovel and Paul Birchill.

Keith worked with Jonny Logan for many years as his arranger and musical director.

Other credits include touring and recording with Jazz Saxophonist Don Weller, Hamish Stewart (The Average White Band), Gordon Haskell and Jim Diamond.

In recent years, Keith has become one of the most respected guitarists and bass players on the circuit of session musicians. Keith has played sessions for Sophie Ellis Bexter, Hearsay, S Club 7, Emma Bunton and many more.

Keith cites his influences as: Jimmy Hendrix, Pat Metheny, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Deep Purple, Herb Alpert, The Doobie Brothers, Miles Davis, The Alarm, The Police, Talking Heads, Led Zeppelin and Yes.
