Paul Burgess was born in Manchester in 1950 and started playing drums in 1965, turning professional in 1971. Having played with a number of Manchester's blues/rock bands, he was asked to join 10cc in 1973 as an auxiliary touring member. Following the departure of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme in 1976, Paul subsequently recorded with the band, playing on Deceptive Bends(77), Live & Let Live (77), Bloody Tourists (78) Look, Hear (79) and Ten out of 10 (82).

In 1982, Paul toured extensively in America, Canada & Europe with Jethro Tull followed by his final tour with 10CC in 83.

Later that year he teamed up with Camel and recorded Stationary Traveler, which led to touring & a live album Preeure Points in 84. (Camel's next tour wouldn't be until 92, providing another live album Never Let Go)..

The 80's continued with extensive touring. Elkie Brooks (85), Joan Armatrading (86), Alvin Stardust (87), Gloria Gaynor (88), Icicle Works (89/90).

Paul's work in the folk/roots area has included Magna Carta since the early 80's recording four albums with them, along with recordings by Ashley Hutchings and Chris White. 1990 saw the beginning of a five year association with Jerry Donahue, as part of The Backroom Boys which reached a peak with the Hellecasters in 95.

Since then, Paul has been working with legendary R & B singer Chris Farlowe and in 2000 he re-united with Graham Gouldman, whose current version of 10CC continues to this day.
